Review by: John Miller on Jan. 26, 2011 :
Right from the start I was engaged by this story. I’m a fan of AC Vokes. He has a unique ability to set the scene right from the first paragraph and then maintain your interest until the last full stop. He neither wastes nor minces words. I was engaged right through to the end. I could visualize exactly what was going on. That’s a sign of a skilled writer.

The Egregore has just the right mix of reality and occult and occult lovers will find it an absorbing and plausible yarn. For those not that familiar with the genre, this is a good introduction.

At a tad under 30 pages it’s an ideal length for a novella. It’s measured, it flows and it’s easy to read.

I’d be prepared to pay more than two bucks for anything written by AC Vokes. You’ll like the Man with the Emu Slippers. I’m waiting for the anthology.

Do yourself a favour; buy it. You’ll be glad you did.
