Trevor Walden was born at the end of the Second Great War in rural Britain. First son of an RAF technician, now out of work as there was no more need for the bombers, and his new bride, the daughter of a greengrocer.
For my first thirty years I never lived in one town, one house, for four straight years. I’m retired now, settled with a good woman, retired, with the eye and the mind of an eighteen year old and the face that mirror’s a varied life, busy at times, lonely at others. This story could have been me.
I’ve read so many books that get interesting then ship to the next bit of action. Where is the ‘real life’ in these tales; the pain of separation, the joy of a 'one night stand' in a bad year. By my writing I hope to explore things I’d like to have done, circumstances permitting, and the emotions of ordinary people as life 'happens' to them.
