I love to travel to new places and try the local food, so this book will come in very handy. I especially like the sections on Russian cuisine and the Middle Eastern foods and spices.

Bought this book thinking it would have recipes and such in it. Turns out this is more of a guide for eating out and understanding the background of the various ethnic cuisines. Still quite enjoyed it, it's very well done.

The book is divided into about 19 sections, each one focusing on a different cuisine. The sections give information about the country and people that created each cuisine, including little tidbits about manners, spices used, and suggestions for first-timers. Highly recommend.
