What a beautiful little book that explains what is a touchy subject for many in a considerate and accessible way. Having come from a family with two adopted siblings and a number of foster brothers and sisters I know the 'why am I here' questions are things that are constantly going to spring up for an adopted child. I see this delightful little story as a sensitive way to approach the subject for the young adopted child. It is far to both the child and their biological mother and allows a child room to feel love and appreciation for both their adopted parents and their biological mothers.
The illustrations are also lovely and inviting which helps you engage in the sweet storyline even more.
I'd recommend this to any adoptive parents as a great bedtime story. One which would help their adopted child engage with and, most importantly, feel good about what can be a very confusing thing for them to come to terms with.
