Recently Updated:

Dragons: A Historical Guide: completely updated with many new artifact photos and added content that uncovers more exciting facts about those legendary creatures...

Dreamstone: per reader feedback, I am giving this book a complete makeover... less romance and more sci-fi action and adventure. If the book sounds interesting, you may want wait to download it until I release a newer version by the end of the year (2018).

I just recently released a full color rhyming children's book: The Dragon Egg That Rolled Away. Unfortunately the compressed version is still too large to download into Smashwords, so for now, it's only available on Amazon in print form.

If you are looking for my adult 18+ books:

Since I write both children's books and erotica, I am in the process of separating my accounts so that someone doesn't accidentally purchase and adult book for a younger reader. To achieve this, my adult books will be penned under the name "Hugh Bennington", while all other works will remain "Ben L. Hughes".

The bio picture is of my son and I heading up the 4x4 road to the top of Mount Antero, Colorado.

As adult reader I found it fun, but a bit implausible. Young reader will likely enjoy it more then I did.

Fantasy books written about current times frequently don't work. This is not one of them. It is a story beautifully told and the kids are credible, honorable and brave. The fact that the story is told in a way that clearly articulates the children's thoughts and emotions makes this a wonderful story to share with children, even though adults will be charmed by it too. I strongly recommend this lovely story for everybody.

Kevin (10), Kevin’s dad Brian, his mom Josie, & his friend Emily were on a summer vacation camping at Wellington Lake. Brian pulled the pop-up camping trailer into the campground.
Kevin & Emily took off for the lake. Next the 2 were going to Castle Mountain, where they going to try & climb it. The 2 reached a very high altitude & saw something. It was a stuffed dragon, so they thought but it was alive. They brought it back to the campground. Fast forward the vacation was over & the family, the dragon & Emily returned to their homes.
What other exciting things will Kevin & Emily encounter with the dragon they found?
Great book cover. What a delightful children’s short story (book). A very easy rating of 5 stars.
