About Yvonne Sanders

I'm addicted to writing. I've cut my writing teeth on my other lives as a mother and school teacher - plenty of writing fodder there! And on my other other life as an educational writer - mostly Science and Biology. I write adult and children's fiction. I've written a couple of novels, some children's stories and lots of short stories for adults.

Writing is my therapy! It makes me calm and happy; it forms me into a better person.

What a great little story. This lady certainly knows how to write. The characters are well developed and the ending was unexpected. I'm looking forward to seeing more of her work.

While Colleen is enjoying a cigarette she tries to call her son Guy. His abusive alcoholic father Eric had left long ago. Colleen a single mom who never received any child support did the best that she could. Guy however became a needy & dependent child. He wasn’t well liked by the kids, an introvert/loner he turned out to be a bully. Guy started to get a lot of piercings. Guy had regular counselling sessions with Mrs. Costa. Guy was searching the internet for major fire/explosion catastrophes & gun websites. Coleen hears the sound of a motorcycle & looks out the window to the horizon in shock/horror.
As a former crisis/school social worker this brings back memories. Just last week a 5A school a 100 miles from where I live & used to work in a different school district had an almost Columbine incident, the 17 yr. old male was apprehended & will be charged as an adult. His name was released to the public.
An excellent very typical true to life short story. Very easy for me to rate it at 5 stars.

Very well written. I could feel the inner turmoil of the mother. Kinda of how serial killers or mass murderers are made.
