Taking A Chance At Love
When hospital policy states that physicians cannot become involved with trainees, the newest addition to the hospital, Dr. Tori Becker, and trainee, Dr. Kenya Jackson, are forced to ignore their mutual attraction. But that's not the only obstacle keeping them from one another. Old relationships, past flings, and threats on their lives surface. Should they take a chance at love? More
Dr. Tori Becker relocated from Houston to Atlanta, GA for an amazing job opportunity as a physician at Atlanta General Hospital. The thirty year-old beauty meets Kenya, her next door neighbor and first trainee at the hospital, and Carmen, the biracial vixen, who is the nurse for Tori's department.
Tori is physically attracted to both, but only Kenya captures her heart. Choosing between the two is the easy part. Here come the obstacles. The hospital policy clearly stated physicians could not become involved with their trainees. Was the mutual attraction and chance at love, worth losing their positions?
Then there were the human obstacles. Carmen was not happy with Tori's decision of picking Kenya over her. She wanted the couple to be as miserable as she was. Jewelle, a top selling real estate agent in Atlanta, wanted Kenya. Jewelle and her partner practiced polygamy and hoped Kenya would become the third party in their family of three. And finally, Skye, the other party in the only serious relationship Kenya ever had. Skye was Atlanta's top female DJ and had her openly gay, yet popular, morning show. It had been over 10 years since her and Kenya last connected but she wanted Kenya back.
When Tori and Kenya's cars are vandalized and the two receive separate threatening letters, the two must decide what lengths they are willing to go to for their chance at love. Was it really worth the risk and their lives? On a well-deserved vacation to Jamaica, Tori, Kenya, and their circle of friends, soak up the sun’s rays, enjoy the Caribbean cuisine, and finally are held hostage by the jealous woman who had wreaked havoc upon their relationship. Friendship and trust win out when their close friends subdue the scamp but the price is paid with one of their lives.
TAKING A CHANCE AT LOVE tells the story of the determination, perseverance, and strength it takes to establish a relationship against the odds. The intimate scenes are descriptive, drawing the reader into the scene. The drama is engaging, and the suspense will keep you on your toes.
