About Al Molaison

What was I thinking???? The first biography ----silly, inane, pompous! What nonsense--college, major, English teacher---even I don't care.
BUT I do care about kids. Most importantly, I care about kids' reading. My nine kids read. Their twenty kids read (or are in the process). And their nine children will read (hopefully, I'll be around to make sure).
If you're reading this 'biography" you have an interest in a child---a child you want to be a reader. We are one in that desire. Let's work together!

As a Brit I found this book a wonderful insight into the US education system. At first glance, it seemed far more complex than the one in operation here. But upon closer examination, the objectives are practically inseparable. As parents and grandparents, we personally have always practiced, without realising that we were doing so, the early introduction to reading and language that is recommended by the core system. Our children and later our grandchildren developed an early understanding, first of language and later reading. They all remain avid readers (of both printed and electronic books). I thoroughly enjoyed the book and found it most informative.
