Recently Updated:

Dragons: A Historical Guide: completely updated with many new artifact photos and added content that uncovers more exciting facts about those legendary creatures...

Dreamstone: per reader feedback, I am giving this book a complete makeover... less romance and more sci-fi action and adventure. If the book sounds interesting, you may want wait to download it until I release a newer version by the end of the year (2018).

I just recently released a full color rhyming children's book: The Dragon Egg That Rolled Away. Unfortunately the compressed version is still too large to download into Smashwords, so for now, it's only available on Amazon in print form.

If you are looking for my adult 18+ books:

Since I write both children's books and erotica, I am in the process of separating my accounts so that someone doesn't accidentally purchase and adult book for a younger reader. To achieve this, my adult books will be penned under the name "Hugh Bennington", while all other works will remain "Ben L. Hughes".

The bio picture is of my son and I heading up the 4x4 road to the top of Mount Antero, Colorado.

Review by: Austin12345 on March 4, 2016 :
The story couldn't decide if it was a fantasy love / lust story or science fiction. The plot barely existed for the first half of the book and as a replacement we get too watch childhood sweethearts grow up and bump ugly. This story could have been so much more and it's a shame it wasn't.

Dreamstone is an exciting read. It covers some interesting ground and relates quite well to our culture in the western US. There is something for almost everyone. Aliens, UFOs, military conspiracy, late night radio, the beautiful Oregon coast, and more. I derived a great deal of enjoyment during the read. I discovered a number of spelling errors that diluted some of my pleasure. Otherwise I would give it 5 stars.
It would be my honor to assist the author with this or any other manuscript if he desires.
