About Gordon Garland

The Author was born in Newark, New Jersey, U.S.A. to Canadian parents living abroad. He currently lives in Goderich, Ontario, Canada in the County of Huron. Before that he lived for 30 years in Toronto and spent some part of every year in Goderich. He says he is 27 years old with an aging disease, but we don’t believe that. "A Weekend by the Lake" is his first ebook.

Gord has written Opinion Articles for The Toronto Star and The Globe and Mail newspapers including: “How the decks were stacked against democracy,” “Don’t let the Games begin,” “Public inquiry needed into ’99 election” and “Taking on the Tories on day care.” He has also published articles in Ontario Out of Doors magazine: “When Time Stood Still” and “Hunting Larger Deer.”

He holds a Masters Degree from the University of Toronto and an Honors B.A. from the University of Western Ontario. Degrees, however, aren’t worth much unless you put them to use. Gord has worked as a commercial painter, researcher, program analyst, market analyst, housing analyst / regional economist and policy analyst. He holds Canadian and U.S. Patents for an original invention ‘The Anglers’ Holster.’

He enjoys hunting and fishing, music and exploring life through writing. He sees short stories as a tool for communicating life experiences and notes: “As human beings we are capable of so much more than we will ever accomplish.” He writes in a style described as Modern English and hopes that his writing will temporarily stop the world and melt with you, the reader.
