“Cthulhu - Something in the Mud” by Nikolai Bird was a pleasure to read. The story was great and the pace was good. I saw the story in my head, like a black-and-white movie, quite vividly. Mr Bird definitely captured the “pulp” feeling for me. I could almost smell the sea salt.

Jack Hart (Captain) & Cooper were reminiscing about the Armistice. Sally was Cooper’s wife. Jack went to a hideaway cabin for some R & R. There were lots of guests there.

Cool book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written mysterious bizarre horror short story (book). It wasn’t always very easy to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. No grammar errors, repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. 1 you have to read it to the end. This could make a great spooky movie or mini TV series. No doubt in my mind a very easy rating of 5 stars for this short story (book).
Thank you for the free short story (book)
