Brenda Kennedy, an award winning and Amazon bestselling author, is a true believer of romance. Her stories are based on the relationships that define our lives - compassionate, emotionally gripping, and uplifting novels with true to life characters, that stay with her readers long after the last page is turned.
Her varied, not always pleasant background has given her the personal experience to take her readers on an emotional, sometimes heart wrenching, journey through her stories.
Brenda has been a struggling single mom, a survivor of domestic abuse, waitress, corrections officer, hostage negotiator and a corrections nurse. She is also a wife, mom, and grandmother. Even though her life was not always rainbows and butterflies, she is a survivor and believes her struggles have made her the person she is today.
Brenda is the author of the award winning book, Forever Country (The Rose Farm Trilogy Book 1). She has been dubbed "The Queen of Cliffhangers" by her adoring readers because books one and two always have a cliffhanger ending. In Brenda's own words, "I write series that end in cliffhangers, because I love them. I always give away the first book in each series so you have nothing to lose by reading it."
She was born and raised in Zanesville, Ohio and moved to SW Florida in 2006 with her husband Rex. They have a combined family, and she often jokes about not remembering what child belongs to who.

The main characters, Angel and Mason, are a believable couple who meet each other through friends, and thus a heartfelt friendship begins and flourishes.
Angel is trying to rebuild her life after a terrible physically abusive relationship. Although she wasn't looking for another relationship with a man, yet, how could she resist the handsome gentleman named Mason Myles, who is also a doctor?
Their story and her fears are very well written. It has a cliff hanger ending, and I am very eager to read the sequel/

This was a pretty good debut. I am going to say please look at the cover, this is a trilogy, so know it before you begin. There is more to come and sometimes its a double edged sword getting in on book one. It sometimes takes a while to get book 2 and 3 so I don't want to have to re-read this one. That said, I am not telling any tales or giving up a spoiler, this is gonna be a cliff hanger!
Overall I enjoyed the characters Mason and Angel. It was kind of a "fate" moment how they meet and fall for one another. Heading to Florida to get away from her ex boyfriend was a life changing moment and for me I like dark so I liked the abuse part. I think it endears Angel a little more.
The author also lets Mason be a gentleman. I sort of liked how the character was a doctor and had more bed-side manors than most, he was one of a kind and totally swoon worthy.
