A great debut novel by Daniel Eavenson, who has a dry sense of humor and a great writing style. (The writing reminded me of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy or works by Neil Gaiman.)
The novel starts off in the mundane world of Dave on a Tuesday. But it doesn't stay mundane when Dave begins to see Ash people, just a few at first and then a whole lot more. The secondary characters take the drivers' seats, figuratively and literally, and Dave goes along for quite a ride. The ending is absolutely brilliant so I won't give it away, but it's entertaining and also philosophically or theologically provoking.
