A poor man's cookbook, this book gives you a price list of your own and shows you how to make meals for less. Full of great recipes and biographies this book talks about our current Canadian financial crisis, and the need for the Salvation Army and their food bank. A great little cookbook, the Author hopes will bring funding and donations into local food banks. More

Thank you SO much for creating this book! I'm a single mom to 2 boys and know the need to find economical meals on a limited budget so really appreciate many of the terrific tips, snack ideas and recipes that are provided. Some great tips are to freeze pancakes for school morning breakfasts (presently I buy frozen pancakes but freezing homemade ones will not only save money but be more nutritious), cutting bananas for school snacks with the peel on so they do not brown (didn't know that!), and new ideas to add to traditional favorites such as mac n' cheese and canned soup. The author's style of writing is down-to-earth and she seems like a 'real' mom who I can identify with. People with a lower income really get to enjoy some truly delicious foods that others with higher budgets might never sample! Cheese, hamburger, tomatoes can never go wrong! Am looking forward to trying many of these ideas and recipes including putting plastic spiders in Juicy Pops for Halloween and Terri-Lyn's yummy Oreo Balls for Christmas as well as many others. Thank you to the author for compiling this terrific book!
