About Rogers W. Jackson

Rogers Jackson is a Texas native who relocated to Chicago in 1982 to study Male Maturation Processes: The Idea of Becoming a Hero, Spiritual Leadership, and Adolescent Male Rite of Passage at the Lutheran School of Theology, the Chicago Theological Seminary, and the McCormick Theological Seminary, in Chicago.

For over thirty years, in academia, the social context, and the Church, I have been given both theoretical and practical insight into encouraging Great and Greater into the lives of Boys who will become Men.

This academic and practical journey of working with African American Men, Young Men, and Boys has been an ongoing journey as a teacher, religious educator, preacher, and pastor who has sat in court rooms, hospitals, and have stood at grave sides where Men and boys have been placed. As a young pastor of a small Church in Fort Worth, Texas, in 1976, I was moved to become a Builder of Men as I watched 10 Men standing in front of a tavern one evening waiting on the doers to open. It was there, that I received my Man Mission to Reach Men and Encourage them into Greater.

For over 30 years, in both the Church, the School, the Theological Seminaries, and the Community, I have been provided insights by both Men and Women key ideas and experiences that are foundations, both personally and experimentally, in the psychosocial, biblical, and theological aspects that Black Men and All Men, Young Men, and boys who seek to break from their "identity confusion" and "inferiority" to an "identity of Mature Manhood" that Builds, Constructs, Protects, and Blesses the home, the community, and the world, instead of destroying it.

This book is designed to integrate the psychological, sociological, cultural, and biblical/theological aspects and definitions of what it means to be a Mature Spiritual Man who enriches the world. Some of the books to Build Men into Greater are THE WHY OF A DEACON, A FATHER'S BUSINESS, MAN UP, A DO SOMETHING MAN, BUILD THE NEXT MAN UP, and PUT GREATER INTO YOUR LEADERSHIP .
