Brace yourself for the highly-spirited selection of humorous poems in the book Genies In Jammies by Marcy Petricig Braasch. Children find a kindred spirit in Braasch, a poet who knows full well that rabbits who love to golf, tadpoles with dreams, frogs as a delicacy and genies who wear jammies are always worth a giggle. The titles alone are a treat: "Squid on a Chair"; "Wanted: Lost Mud Pie"; "Mooch." Through her fresh, lively words and illustrations, Braasch manages to connect to every child in her audience—young and old. It's impossible to pick a favorite, between the dirty, rotten thief Felonious Maximus, the imaginative Ashley Moonstone Ponderosa Parkes and the ill-tempered tailor Luigi. Highly recommended.
