For readers who love full length novels only—you are missing out. There are some wonderful short stories out there…and this book is one of them. Don’t let the title fool you—this book was a delightful quick read.
Let’s say you are stuck in traffic for a while, or in a long line at the grocery store, or you’re waiting in your car for your friend to come out of the doctor’s office. Well, this book is for you. It is available in various reading formats, so there is no excuse as to why you can’t have this book on hand.
You learn to love Thomas Avery right from the start. He is a gentle, caring, hard-working, blind butcher that works at the Patty-O-Matic meat company. Yes, he’s blind, but he does his job quite well. His best friend and companion is his guide dog, Rudy, who accompanies him to work and then back home again. He even shares half of Thomas’ sandwich with him over lunch time. But after six years of the same-ole-same-ole, Thomas’ life at work takes a turn toward the uncanny—and Clarence, the owner of the butcher store, makes life rough for dear Thomas.
And this is where the story takes off. I do not want to spoil the read for you, so I will only say that I was riveted to the story until the very end. I highly recommend this short story. So visit: http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/43882 and grab up your copy today!
