January Embers

Rated 5.00/5 based on 1 reviews
'January Embers' is the culmination of over a decade of obsessive writing. These evocative, powerful poems have an almost tangible grace; the author adroitly deals with pain, anger and mental illness, but, above all, the spine is hope. 'January Embers' is not without humor; 'Edgar And I' dares you not to smile. Kristen Varwig's debut is a must-read for the sophisticated and casual reader alike. More

About Kristen Varwig

I am a young woman living in Colorado Springs, Colorado. As a child my family traveled the country, and, as a result, I went to eighteen different schools between Colorado and Florida. I immersed myself in reading and writing as a way to make sense of the characters I met along the way. I believe in the beauty of the glorious and the derelict alike. I believe that love is everlasting, and the only thing worth dying for. I believe that heartbreak is necessary, and the more pain you feel, the more capacity for joy you have. I love the darkness and the light; the glamorous and the downtrodden, and I try to weave all of that into my writing. I am slightly pretentious, and slightly self-deprecating. More than anything, I am a poet and a writer, and if my work reaches one person, then I will be complete.

Wow. This book is incredible. Especially 30 poems for $ 2. 'Marching' is a beautiful poem about a brave buy at war. 'Anxious Dissolution' walks you thru a nervous break. ' Easter Sunday' brought tears.very eclectic and I haven't find talent like this in a long time. Buy this cheap now, because this girl will be a best seller. Buy this book!
