What a read! I found it engrossing, beginning to end, including the long descriptions. New Zealand, a different place, different cultures, different peoples, different customs. This was a great educational experience, not just a great read. Thank you Michael Steptoe for taking the time and investing the effort to do this. I felt very richly rewarded.

The book started out well, but sorry, despite persevering I had to give up on it. The long detailed descriptions of things, that ultimately have no bearing on the plot meant thousands of words could have been cut from the book without any marked impact at all, other than improving the pace. A good hard edit is desperately needed.

What a fantastic read, I literally could not put it down. With its wonderfully vivid descriptions and such an action packed and intriguing story, this is a must read. The unique New Zealand setting is a bonus too!

Refreshingly different to read a novel of this type set in New Zealand. The well crafted content and local descriptions make this an intriguing story that I found very hard to put down. This author has a talent for writing that should rate highly in the publishing world.

From a new and exciting author this was up there with the best, with enough action and surprises to keep me rivited to the last page. The NZ setting was a bonus. A golden opportunity for a decerning agent looking for new talent.

I was hooked. superb. Fast paced chases & twists galore. A touch of the supernatural, romance, evil, adventure, its all there. A great story based on fact about a little known time in New Zealands history. Would make a great movie.
Michael Steptoe can write. Looking forward to more from this Author.
