About Kelly Martin

Kelly Martin is a passionate and unconventional metaphysical thinker and writer who has been questioning reality since 1999. Writing on her blog Kelly Martin Speaks and speaking on YouTube she traces her journey from shyness to greater confidence.

Kelly has explored many different paths from Reiki healing, Shamanism to Buddhism and now embraces a primarily mindful journey. After what felt like a decade of severe anxiety she took up mindfulness meditation and began to notice how much compassion and kindness lay in simply being with who she was, in that moment. Through practising mindfulness she began to emerge from a story of failure and fear to empowerment and greater confidence.

She wants to encourage people to find the treasures that lie within the pain and suffering and to learn to see themselves as 'enough' exactly as they are, right now.

Born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in North East England, she now lives in Gloucestershire with her best friend Mike and the occasional visiting cat. She likes nothing better than sitting in a café drinking coffee, writing and people watching. Prior to metaphysics she majored in Environmental Studies at University and in many ways her love of the natural world has carried over into the love of nature as a great guide in her life.

Thank goodness for that! Now I like a good self help book as much as the rest...but to be honest, they get a bit 'samey' don't they? Kelly has managed to wrote an easily readable and important book. For me the biggest part of furthering myself is acknowledging that rubbish days happen and actually they are as important as all the good ones. It's the yin and yang of life after all. Take some time to ponder this book, your thoughts, feelings and get everything out of it that you need.

I really enjoyed this book, it took me longer to read than I expected because i often felt the need to stop and reflect on certain parts and journal my feelings on them. So many of us are stuck on them same feelings of frustration, guilt and fear when we need not be.
Kelly's book helped to open my eyes to see the gifts around us and within us, and helped me let go of those feelings that were holding me back.
Not your typical self help book, this is one that I'll definitely re-read from time to time.

I’ve taken a while to write this review as I wanted to get it right. This book is not your typical self help book. It has helped me review my life and acknowledge that sometimes it’s ok to feel the way I feel. It has made me realise that I do matter. It also makes you realise that everyone is in the same boat, we all have these feelings and self doubt. The book is easy to read and full of great information. I would highly recommend

When I started reading this book, I thought it was a self help book. And I guess in a way it is however it has a different take on it. Instead of saying be positive, use affirmations and the rest of it, it acknowledges that not one person is perfect and that everyone has a bad day. It helps you understand a little more about yourself and how to understand yourself so when you are ready to change your behavior or thinking you will not be afraid.
I enjoyed reading this book it really made me think about myself more. Thanks Kelly

Thanks to Kelly Martin and Smashwords that I could get this amazing book for free.
I'm not typically a slow reader when I read the book that I'm excited about. But, this book made me to be. Because in this book, every word matters and I don't want to lose 'the moment' when the words flow into 'the inside' of me. This book helped me to understand my life better through digging my true inner self out bit by bit.

Original and refreshing.I expected yet another self-help book but found here an original approach to the practice of mindfulness, self expansion and awareness as Kelly advocates recognising that we are okay exactly as we are and how experiencing each moment and surrendering to the natural flow of life leads to a feeling of fulfilment and joy, an easy mind and confidence in our own being.
