The righteous is compared to a tree planted, cultivated and well watered and that which bears fruit always; whiles the ungodly (wicked) is compared to the tree growing wild on the field. The ungodly are seen as chaff that blows away and immediately perishes. The righteous was being liked to be as a rich, fruitful and a perfect Christian walk with God. And you see, this Psalms shows us clearly that though God is not against material prosperity, He would rather see us blessed when we are grown cultivated and well catered in spiritual things, through righteousness. Because that keep us closely to Him and we in turn grow from strength to strength. For example, coaches in a train are safest when they remain connected to the engine through each other. And when this connection is maintained, the train runs efficiently and reaches its destination. And just as only the first coach is connected directly to the engine; the rest must be closer to another coach in order to receive the pull that is needed from the engine. As the engine pulls the coaches using the coach in front.
