About Doranna Durgin

Doranna's quirkiness of spirit has led to an eclectic publishing journey since that her first award-winning novel, spanning genres over 35 novels to include mystery, SF/F, action-romance, paranormal, franchise, and a slew of essays and short stories.

Beyond that, mostly she still prefers to hang around outside her New Mexico mountain home with the animals, riding dressage on her Lipizzan and training for performance sports with the dogs. She doesn't believe so much in mastering the beast within, but in channeling its power. For good or bad has yet to be decided...

Along with the occasional original, these Smashwords editions are author presentations of favorites once found on bookstore shelves.

I've been a fan of Durgin's writing for many years, and have also followed ConneryBeagle's journey - from triumphs in the agility arena to the challenges to his health and well being from allergies and unfriendly dogs. I would have bought this book even if the stories were horrible. But, of course, they're not, and I knew they wouldn't be - I'd read many of Doranna's stories when originally published in various anthologies, and loved the idea of having them all in one place. And it's clear Connery's author friends didn't offer their second best to this anthology, either. I had not read any of them before, and was blown away by the variety and quality of all of the stories. I'm happy that purchasing this book will help Connery - having a great read on top of that? Total bonus!

Nobody writes dogs as well as Doranna. She understands their boundless joy, their loyalty and their worries so well she can make you believe that you are a dog. In this anthology, she's collected her best dog stories as well as terrific dog stories from other fabulous authors like Tanya Huff, Julie Czerneda, and Jennifer Roberson.

Really wonderful stories about dogs. Quite heart touching. This is the first ebook that I bought since I got my Nook for Christmas. I choose this one for my first purchase so as to help Connery Beagle and his medical problems.

This is a great book of short stories that I highly recommend. Not only do you get stories by a number of wonderful writers, but the price of this ebook goes to help pay for Connery Beagle's medical bills. So, buy this ebook, read great stories and know you're helping a wonderful lady & her dog.
