About Maris Soule

Maris Soule was born and raised in California, but a red-head with blue eyes talked her into moving to Michigan--for just a couple of years. Way too many years later, she's still married to that man, has two grown children, two granddaughters, and still lives in Michigan (except when she heads for Florida to avoid the cold). Always a reader, Soule began writing romances back in the early 80s, and over the years had 25 published by Harlequin, Silhouette, and Bantam, several winning awards, including 2 being finalists for RWA's RITA. Always a fan of mystery and suspense novels, Soule wove suspense into many of her romances, but finally she decided to reverse the trend. Her three P.J. Benson "Crow" mysteries, (The Crows, As The Crow Flies, and Eat Crow and Die) weave a bit of romance in with the mystery, while her two stand alone thrillers, A Killer Past, which introduces a 74-year-old woman who is anything but feeble. and Echoes of Terror, winner of the 2017 RPLA award for Mystery/Thriller is set in Skagway, Alaska. Most of her books involve animals, and the Rhodesian Ridgeback in The Crow books is named after a Ridgeback she raised, trained, and showed years ago.
