This book was recommended to me by a friend, and is definitely a story that young people would enjoy, even though as an adult I found it a fab read.

The mysterious goings on around this families farm keeps you engaged throughout the entire book.

In this thriller, young Jason is being targeted and giant crows roam around... so who wouldn't be entertained?

I haven’t read a young adult mystery this good in a very long time. I love the setting, a struggling family of five, living on a farm. I live on a secluded non-working farm in the mountains and I have a lot of crows here. I love the crows, even if they are noisy. As I was reading this book, about gigantic crows, the crows started squawking loudly outside my window. It made me laugh.

The crows in this book are fascinating and my favorite character is Jason, the father’s son. Huge crows protecting a young boy from death, doesn’t get much better than that.

Throughout the entire book I tried to figure out who the attempted murderer might be. I’m unable to say any more about this for fear of giving the surprise away. All I’ll say is that I absolutely love the ending!!

I highly recommend young adults and adults alike, read this wonderful story about friends, family, trust, and deceit.

I really enjoyed the time I spent reading this book, "The Scared Crow" by Steve Caresser. Although it is a suspense thriller, it is also very much a family oriented book, with a loving, caring country family as its nucleus. I was surprised at the 'who did it' at the end, and like that the author was able to combine the mystery element & the family element together. Looking forward to reading the sequel.
