About Richard E. Jandrow

Richard E. Jandrow spent a lot of his youth just collecting music. He was fortunate enough to be entering his teens when Rock 'n' Roll music began to grow.

He had a paper route since the age of nine, so, he always had his own money. More and more he seemed to spend his money on records that he heard on the local radio station. From the age of ten he had constantly acquired the complete "Top Forty" hits according to Billboard Magazine. He knew the artist, the hit, the flip side and the record company of each of them.

Around the age of sixteen he started hanging around the local radio station and soon learned to become a disc jockey/announcer. He was soon filling in for several jocks on the air.

Richard attended The University of Massachusettes, in Amherst, majoring in theatre. He took it upon himself to join the college radio station, WMUA, in Amherst. He started accepting fill in jobs on local and Springfield radio stations.

When he graduated he went to work for several years as a combination announcer, dJ, and salesman. All this time collecting and developing his record collection. Today he is the proud owner of 6380 record albums and over 2000 45's. He began selling these on The Internet with his own web sites including, http://www.boxcarnow.com/.

Today, he is retired and busy converting this music to digital on his computer systems. This book was developed and written because of that love of music.
