Greater Expectations

Rated 4.60/5 based on 5 reviews
It is said that the course of true love never runs smooth-even for us men. Yet it has never been easier to find love, although technology seems to have killed all romance and so rendered Cupid redundant. Thankfully, not all the answers to life’s mysteries are to be found in the computer and Cupid, battered and bruised as he may be, proves that he still has some game and a few tricks up his sleeve. Notting Hill meets 50 Shades. A thoroughly thought-provoking and enjoyable read! The main character guides you through his post-divorce world and the excitement, and sometimes horror, of online dating. His experiences absolutely leap off the page, feeling as though you are right there beside him. Giving you a glimpse into the male mind, this book is perfect for both men and women! There are many laughs and even tears as the captivating story unfolds. Can't wait for the next one!!

Really loved reading this book, reading is normally a bit of a chore for me as while I'm reading I'm missing out on what is going on around me...and normally I get very distracted and lose concentration...then give up...something I can say did NOT happen while I was reading this book !!!...I couldn't put it down, I found myself lost in this book.. almost desperate to find out what was going to happen next, I really have never read a book before that really got me involved and tugged at my heartstrings like this one..but also finding it extremely amusing and very shocking in parts...yes this is the first book I've read with adult content...or even with romantic content...I am a bit of a if I can say it...I'm no longer a Romantic Comedy / Adult book virgin haha...I think I cried at the emotions of "Z" as much as I giggled very loudly at his way of thinking...was a great incite into the male perception of love and life and sex eye opener!!!.. I loved the ending..there was tears...just want more now...I read the book in two whats keeping you McCabe...get writing please...T'was Fabbi !!!

Just finished greater expectations. Thank you!
I'm not a big reader. Have attempted many, always falling by the wayside. In 10 years only managed to finish 2. Marley and Me And this. Both book envoced such euphoric emotions. I have laughed, Cryed, sympathised, felt the pain projected from the main characters and even at one point with this one made me want to hurl!!!!. Love is!! a strange thing. Thank you for brightening up my week. Thouroly enjoyed. Oh and by the way never in my life have I read a book in 4 days. You have just possibly got me reading again. look forward to the next installment.

As a single dad of 3 daughters, I try to keep an open yet in tune mind. I found this an exceptional, humorous journey with undertones of life’s frustrations overcome on occasion with graphic explicitly, with the intrigue of fact or fiction. The main character, clearly, yet intriguingly in touch with his feminine side, unlike the majority of men, unafraid to show it. A tale of not just growing up, maturing but developing holistically whilst maintaining a youthful yet sustained approach to life’s challenges. A remarkably endeavouring hilarious modern romantic read. Upbeat compared to the typical romcom of today, begging the question of youthful zest, Fact or Fiction ?

Greater Expectations tells the story of Z following his separation from his cheating wife, and his journey from being heartbroken to finding love again, with lots of dating disasters and sexual encounters along the way. This book is unusual as it is written from a male perspective and was thought provoking in how it is assumed all men want to be the player and are not looking for the perfect partner, I had never truly considered before how difficult it must be where men are expected show bravado at all times and hide their emotions.
This book is very well written with an eloquent style of writing with some real laugh out loud moments, you go through a journey of emotions along with the main character. My only criticism for me personally the book ended abruptly and I would have loved an epilogue ending or even better a follow up book. I would definitely recommend this book although it is an adult only book, I will be looking for more works from this author.
