I suffer from the double affliction of being both an archaeologist and a philologist with a strong interest in Greek mythology, which means I´m quite picky when it comes to adaptions of myths, never mind anything set in any kind of prehistoric period. As a result I avoided that novel for years, despite having read and loved all of the author´s other books.
Now I´m kicking myself that I did not pick it up sooner - I should have known, I´d be in safe hands! I raced through the book in just a couple of days, had fun with the (very well researched) archaeological details and the stories with their varied and equally interesting protagonists, and really couldn´t put it down. Highly recommended!
