A high school teacher by day and writer by night, you can say I live life dangerously. Upon setting out into the real world at the tender age of seventeen, I intended to gain world domination via complex mathematical equations, algorithms, and computer codes. However, my plans were thwarted when I discovered the power of the WORD (way less complicated).
I now spend my days writing epic fantasies of high adventure and conspiracy, hoping to captivate the world in the same manner as my hero, J.K. Rowling, did. My goal? To bend your mind to my will. I mean, entertain you with stories of heroic adventures, love , and intriguing mystery.
Yup. That's totally my goal.
Currently, I live in the Garden State, in a lovely house surrounded by gardens.

The Dragon’s Prophecy is a gem of a novel about four "fae" sisters each with her own set of magical powers who are mysteriously brought together in a cottage in the woods. The forest seem to protect the girls, along with their caretakers Samanthya ( a Seer) and Brokk (a surly yet caring former knight with a checkered past.)
When their home is destroyed by mercenaries the girls set off to discover what they truly are, and how their unique powers to wield fire, wind, water and earth will save Earthia, with the help of their kindly, wise dragon guide and a band of rough and tumble boys called the Spriggins.
This book is choc full of nuanced and thoroughly organic relationships between the characters. In a book where the fate of the world is at stake, the real tension and interest lies within the lead characters and how they relate to each other.
Brokk and Samanthya, who clearly care for one another but barely speak. Faolyn and Azria who despite being competitive, aggressive sisters, clearly deeply love each other. The list goes on, and the author’s artful creation of these complex ties was my favorite part of the book.
Not only are the characters well developed and fully flushed out with their own idiosyncrasies, but so are the elements they control. Fire, water, earth and air are all anthropomorphized to become characters in their own right, which was so creative of the author and such a treat to see.
The book was well paced. There is also a touch of romance between Azria and the draconian Spriggin boy, which was sweet. On that note, the only criticism I can offer is that I wish there was a bit more heat in the book romance-wise... but that might just be me. (I tend to always want more heat in everything!)
I definitely recommend The Dragon’s Prophecy and will keep an eye out for Ms. Power’s next book!

Creative and talented author...
Faeolyn reminds me of the angel, Blade of Goldnight, only stronger, more fearless, witty...a powerful warrior leader.
Thank you for writing this epic fantasy! Bless you and John (and Bambi) with peace, love, happiness, and goodness during the holidays!

WOW, what a fantastic read, and a hidden gem! This book is very catchy, well-written, and full of detail and adventure. Life is about love, as seen in Samanthya, and second chances, especially for Brokk.
Isabela Powers' debut novel is a smash and definitely worth the read! I can't wait to find out more...you've got me hooked on your book!
