I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review from LoP on Goodreads.

This book started out a little slow for me but after the kidnapping the pace picked up a lot and so did the suspense. I spent the whole book trying to figure out whose side MArkus is on and I'm still trying to figure it out. The ending totally threw me for a loop. Starting 2nd book now.

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review LoP (Lovers of Paranormal). I enjoyed this book thoroughly. The author did a great job setting up believable world in which treaties governed the paranormal and peace seemingly held sway. I liked that the main characters meshed well together in rough situations and that they interacted with their friends as well. The romance progressed along with the plot and didn't detract from the issues at hand. I liked that both characters had a strong moral compass and were able to make a difference.

Overall I really enjoyed this book. I had a little trouble in the beginning but once I got into it I was hooked. Julia and Jackson are a great match and there is just enough mystery to keep you hooked. I didn't expect it to end like it did but the cliffhanger was just enough to leave me wanting more. There is the perfect mix of mystery, action and romance to keep you reading. I'm ready for the next chapter. I received this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP or Lovers of Paranormal)

As the first book in this series, it sets up the world quite nicely. The main characters, Julia and Jackson are both very morally driven magic users. The difference between them, is that Jackson has no secrets, but is a wanted criminal. Julia is on the right side of the law, but is harboring a secret that could carry a death sentence if it is ever discovered. The action thoroughly grabs your attention from the very beginning, demanding you hurry up and finish the book. Some things are exactly as they seem, and others will blow you away with surprise revelations. (No, I'm not spoiling it for you) This book introduces other very interesting characters as well... I can't wait to hear more about Markus, and I'm dying to know what happens to poor Sylvia. I thoroughly enjoyed the ride from the beginning to end, and can't wait for more.
