I bought this on another site; sorry!

OMG I loved this! I don't like dark romances much usually but this was just so different. It's nasty by not really. I love the way Zachary and Serenity battle each other. And I love the way they fall in love. It's 10 stars!

If I could give this book 10 I would.I really loved this book! I just couldn't put it down. Reminded me of the old black and white movie of gangsters and the mob.
I could just picture in my mind as I read. I hated for this book to end. I loved the strong women and the alpha male how their characters went so well together. Also like the fact it was not a cliffhanger. This is also a full length novel. Not one of those short novellas. I thank the author for doing that.
I have never read any by this author but will now look into reading more of her books.
This is truly a love story that goes light on the sex.
I highly recommend this book!!

Thanks so much for a free book in exchange for a review. I begged for this book screams read me. Not to mention the story line is along the line of books I love to read. No disappointment here. I loved it...I devoured it. I recommend to anyone who loves mafia books with dubious consent, graphic violence, and sex. Dark romance seems to be the flavor lately, and this book follows the synopsis perfectly. I enjoyed reading this book, and I definitely recommend it. Overall entertainment at its best Five stars!

Review by: Amanda Coffin on Sep. 28, 2014 :
Solitaire is the plucky and far-from-angelic heroine who falls in with the Princeton-educated boss of a Mexican cartel. There's plenty of action, sex, and a collection of Spanish epithets you're unlikely to pick up anywhere apart from a Guadalajara fish market. The key, though, is the two edgy, intelligent protagonists drawn by a very savvy author.

AJ Adams deftly mixes black humour and verbal quips with the darkness and intensity of her subject matter. This novel is escapism with brains. It's gruesome in places, and it's funny. The sex is torrid. It's a really well-crafted novel that stands far above most of the others in its genre.
