This is absurd, nonsense fiction. I liked it for the first paragraphs but I gave up because the geography was too confusing. There's loads of fantasy place names (reminded me of Richard Brautigan) and it's not easy to get your head around it all. There are also occasionally mentions of "Britain" and "England" and I felt these real names sat uncomfortably amongst all the fantasy.

Actually now I realize that this is the third book in the trilogy so maybe that's why not much is explained. I guess I probably need to read the previous two books to get it.
