This is book 2 of a trilogy and it's an amazing followup to book 1. You probably don't have to read book 1 to enjoy this one but I suggest it.
The Accused has the tense and sexy scenes that The Mark had but it also has more characters, girl-on-girl action and even some darker scenes than book 1 had. When one of the accused witches says she won't go along with everyone else and let the governor examine her for the devil's mark things get scary. The whole book was well written but these scenes were powerful that I didn't know if I should cry or sigh when I read them. They made my heart pound really hard because of the paranoid injustice they showed but they were still super hot and sexy.
I felt like I was right there in the village with these people in that time period and could understand these crazy things happening. There's more to this story than sex even though the sex is throughout (and it is HOT). Like The Mark, The Accused is both delicious and disturbing. Definitely for the open minded reader.
