ADVICE: Before reading Fire Wizard, prepare an easy, slow cook dinner or get a take away. Otherwise, food will be over cooked/dry/non-existant!!
Fire Wizard is a pick-up-and-not-put-down type of book.

Niki Hansen is a fire fighter and she loves her job . . . . Actually, its a calling, more than a career, to her.
In a profession that is usually male dominated, Niki's chief is always on her case because she is dedicated. Too dedicated. He thinks Niki is on an unrealistic mission to save all people who are caught in a fire.

As a Fire Wizard, Finn McLain knows that the fires that have destroyed lives and homes lately, are more than domestic, accidental fires. The colours in the flames all point to a rogue. A Fire Wizard who needs the high of a fire.
But lives are taken in these fires. The rogue must be stopped. Now!

Niki has noticed the blonde man at the scenes of fires a few times. She spots him when the first, unnaturally hot, fire happens. He stays apart from the crowd, in shadows, yet, he stands out. She is convinced that he is the arsonist. But how can anyone prove this when these latest, unnatural fires are so intense only ash is left?

Fire Wizard is the second book I read by Lauralynn Elliott. All I can say is: WOW!!! Her style of writing will have the reader visualising the book as though they were in a cinema. She combines supernatural, suspense and humour. The "suitors scene" had me both laughing and cringing for all involved! The "Training Scene" made me feel like I was there, with the characters.

I, 100% hope Lauralynn Elliott will keep writing for a long, long time. I'd love to know where, when and how her stories and characters come to her. Should the day come when Lauralynn retires (NOOOOOO!!!!) she should definitely give classes to new and upcoming authors. Talent like this is very rare!

Buy the book - Finn McLain alone is worth it!!!!

Fire Wizard by Lauralynn Elliott
Niki Hansen loves being a firefighter. In fact, it’s her whole life. She is there on her days off and all the friends she has are her fellow firemen. She’s drawn to fire and it seems it don’t hurt or burn her. And then things change, someone is starting fires that burn hotter and faster and people are dying.

Finn McLain spots the beautiful firefighter as he stands watching the fire that he knows is not normal. One of their own has gone rogue. Who could it possibly be? He knows every fire wizard in the area. How could they do this? Take lives? And why is he so drawn to that woman who seemed to walk through the flames as she rescued a child?

I really enjoyed this, it had a unique story line and characters that drew you in, like Finn. Others you wanted to smack like the stodgy old council members who had become stale in their comfy positions. Enjoying all the perks of being in charge and bossy without ever really seeming to care. And an old but true easy it is to let power go to one’s head.
