About Ray Turner

Born in Texas, schooled in Oklahoma, moved to California, met the girl who became my wife, started a family. My lifelong ambition was to write children's books... Wait that's not completely true. The being born, moving and getting married is true enough but I never had any idea that I would write children's books though I always had an appreciation of the kids point of view.

I began telling children's stories when my first two children were very young--that's been a few years ago. But when my third arrived I finally started writing some of them down.

Since then I have done or had done a couple of public readings which received encouraging responses and well, there you go!

I read this story to a 2 year old and a 5 year old the other night. They LOVED it! It was just scary enough AND with a happy ending. It made me able to read it to them as a bedtime story. They had been begging me for weeks to read them a spooky story, and I keep saying no. Then I had to promise them that once Halloween came, I would read them a Halloween story. But I looked around for one and I couldn't find any Halloween story for kids that I liked... until I found this one! It's absolutely perfect. I wanted something in the Halloween theme so they felt like I was telling them a scary story, but then it told a lesson about right and wrong and who we should be, which I loved. And most importantly it ended happily so they didn't have nightmares when they went to sleep.

Keep up the good writing! I need more stories to read to these kids! haha I look forward to getting the next one you write! :)

This is a wonderfully creative story, sure to bring a smile to any who read it or have it read to them! And that I believe is the whole point! Great job.

Who doesn't love a good Halloween Tale? This one is awesome, I even read out loud to my Italian Greyhound, Jackson. Honestly, he was loving it - maybe it was the rhyming words or maybe he likes Halloween Stories as much as I do... Regardless, we give it four paws up!!!

I really enjoyed reading this story. It was not just another spooky Halloween story. It is truly innovative with an ending that may just be the reason we enjoy Halloween so much. Get this book, your children will love it!
