About Tonia Mitchell

My name is Tonia Mitchell, I’m forty six. DOB: 7-10-67. I have been married twice and I’m my husband’s fourth wife, He being seventeen years older than I.
I work in a residential care home for the elderly in Hampshire and live in a housing association property.
I love my work.
While I’m at work I have a habit of being the resident comedian, I fool around and make jokes, making the residents and the staff laugh. So much so that my boss told me that I should join a drama group, as I’d often said to her that I’d wanted to be an actress. I did join a drama group for a year before I began writing my book. While I was in the drama group, I found out about a poetry recital that was up and coming in June this particular year, from a member of our drama group who was also part of a writers group. So I joined this writers group, as I like to write poetry also. The people of the writers group didn’t like my poems because they rhymed. Still this encouraged me to write a new poem, which I called Talent. It went down very well at the recital. As far as my book is concerned, I missed the next years audition at my drama group as I was busy writing my book. It was my first attempt at writing one.
The reason I decided to write a book was because of a specific author. Terry Goodkind. In June 2006 I began to read properly. Between then and April 2008, I’d read 64+ books mostly fantasy fiction. I eventually came across Terry Goodkind’s, the sword of truth series. I’d read all twelve books in four months. This was between January and April 2008. I’d finished them all. He was the one who inspired me to write my own book. Which I began in April 2008, I finished writing it on the 26th February 2009. I believe I’ve done a good job of it as I find myself laughing at my own humour in the book. I have since written the second book and book 3 is a work in progress. I've been writing all my life, I've written tons of poetry and some songs from time to time and have even begun to write other stories and books but my first book has given me new scope and hope it will be a best seller one day.
