In 2011, Aleru self-published a children’s book titled, Animals in Action A-Z. Being a self-starter, eventually led her to start her own business, Tutors for Tots, Tweens & Teens LLC. It has been four years since the launch of her business and Aleru has continued to make a mark within the education community. In 2014, she developed a high school curriculum called SCALE High™—School, Career, and Life Enrichment— that teaches high school students the importance of setting goals, by giving them the necessary tools to think about their future, and to motivate them to change their vision into reality. SCALE High™ is now a funded program within Long Beach Unified School District.
Aleru has a long record of creating new content that can benefit student achievement and academic success. Recently, Aleru created and produced her companies’ educational web series, The Cook Book. The Cook Book in an extension to Tutors for Tots’ supplemental services for students PK-12. It correlates with its “in-home” niche, providing interactive educational videos that children can watch in the comfort of their home. The webisodes feature educational activities and lessons, as well as a nutritional cooking segment. The series can be replicated at home, with little parental guidance.
