Reviews of Grif's Toy: Tease and Denial Book One by Joseph Lance Tonlet

This would be one of the best MM/gay erotica books of the past decade IMO. Seriously. It is THAT good!

I think part of its strength is that few authors have tackled sph kink in novel-form so that makes the stoy unique. JLT has peeled away the kink's surface to show the depth beneath that makes it such an intriguing topic. The other reason it is so good is that JLT has one of the best writing styles going. He can even make the way a character sits down read as sexy. My only gripe is the author has not given us more books lol Fantastic erotic gem this one.

The book starts with Grif's and his partner Wes in a restaurant who are in a master slave type of relationship and Grif has issues with the size of his package calling it "stubby". Grif resigned himself to a life alone. Once in college, he meets and ends up rooming with straight guy, Tate. I really liked Tate. They become good friends, quite a turning point in Grif’s life. Tate is amazing. He gives Grif something special, a freedom and general acceptance, asking nothing in return other than what he receives from Grif’s attentions. Each chapter is a different moment in time in Grif's life and I really liked that about this book. Humiliation kink is an interesting thing, and although it is not my kink I understand it. I also think that it is interesting to turn something that you think is a weakness to turn it around and it becomes a turn on at least that's how I saw it working for Grif. Wes is a perfect partner for Grif. He is huge, buff, kind, generous, and his kinks align with Grif's. This was my first time reading this author. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading more of this authors work
