Very good "prequel" to the series. To the point where I almost recommend starting the read here.
This is a sweet werewolf romance. In fact the entire series is rather PG as compared to your typical R rated werewolf romances. Patience and self control are recurring themes in her books. A fact which I appreciate, being kinda old school myself.
Although the 15 year old Charlene comes across as slightly annoying, dictator-ish, and unrealistically capable(a sheltered 15 year old suddenly with knowledge of construction, primitive cooking, and camp management?), I grew to love her, just like I did with her other sisters.
I kind of complained in book 3 about how the relationships weren't balanced well, but here it wasn't so bad. Mary and her Mate were adorable!
Anyways, this book added a lot of information to the series. And that final scene? Wow. It totally made up for any annoyance I felt for Charlene throughout the book.

I read all the books available in the series in 2 days. And this is from a girl that NEVER spends on ebooks! Try out the first free ebook in the series Hope(less) if you want to see her writing style, then I recommend reading this one if you liked it!
