I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I liked the book but thought it dragged in spots and the story line seemed to lack continuity.

"I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. With that said, the story itself was good and I enjoyed it. The parts I didn't like are something the author can easily improve on. One) the characters need to be described at the beginning of the story. I had a completely different look for both Kade and Brooke until I find Kade has olive skin and green eyes and Brooke is a blonde. I'd like the author to give the description as to who their characters look like. They gave them life per say with a personality, why not the looks too? Two) the love scenes. Well, I understand not wanting to put any emphasis on a love scene. Then don't put one in there. It's better than putting something in there that just screams "I don't want to be here, but I was told I had to to get the ratings!" I felt like someone threw a wet washcloth on me with those scenes. I'm not asking for hot and bothered but interested would be nice. Three) I felt really rushed at the beginning of the book to learn all about who's who from the previous books.
Like I said at the beginning, overall the story was good and I enjoyed following the characters along. I think that with a few tweaks, the story can be more relaxed to follow along with characters one can visualize clearly in ones mind and perhaps have love scenes that makes the heart begin to warm up a bit. Thank you for this opportunity.

I liked this book, the people and the fact that there were several other stories running in the overall story. I found it easy to read. Well, except for the fact that I had a bit of a problem keeping up with all the people who were introduced. For me, there were just too many people and I had to keep sorting out who was who. Of course that might be because its Book 4 of the series. It is a standalone story, but maybe it would have been helpful to me to have read some of the other ones, not sure. I did like the developing story between Paige and Nesto also.

Sorry can't seem to use the ratings with the star, there doesn't seem to be any explanation to what each one stands for. So whatever star rating says I liked it; that's the one I would be using.

This is another sweet romance in the MacLaren family. This one focuses on Brooke who is suspected in a drug ring and Kade one of the officers investigating her. There is an instant attraction from the start but being inappropriate under the circumstances they don't act on it. Once Brooke is cleared of having involvement in the drug ring things heat up when Brooke and Kade both end up back at the ranch.

Enjoyed this book - had no idea it was a series. I prefer to read those in order but this book can be a stand alone. The problem being there are so many characters introduced which would have been clearer had I read the previous books. I do not review grammar, etc - only book content. I like a little more suspense but truly enjoyed there was no "filthy" language and explicit sex scenes. I thought maybe the intense feeling may have been a little overdone but overall I thought it was a good book and have no problem suggesting it as a read for others.

Oh what a delightful and beautiful story. I loved it. It was a joy to read and has everything, romance, love, family, friendships, and cowboys. The mystery and intrigue is awesome and it is one of the best books I have ever read. The detailing is incredible and made me feel like I was right there; I want to live in Fire Mountain. The characters are perfect for the story and the attraction with Brooke and Kade is wonderful. There are surprises and unexpected events that keep you reading and it is so well written and so simple to stay with. I hated to see it end and was left wanting more. I love this writer, Shirleen Davies. She is utterly brilliant and I am going to find more of her books. She definitely grabbed my attention. I highly recommend this book to everyone, it is one of the best reads ever. You will love it.

Love, love, love...

As always, I loved this book. Shirleen Davies never ceases to amaze me. Her books are all so different, but the stories tie together seamlessly. It's quite impressive.

This one was about a rough and tough DEA agent named Kade and one of the newest MacLarens by marriage, Brooke. Brooke is a sweet, innocent, and a bit naïve college student. She is working on getting her doctorate, and she and Kade couldn’t be more opposite. But their attraction to one another is intense. This is the story of how they try to overcome their differences.

I can't wait for the next gem to come from Shirleen. I know it will be great. If you haven't read all of the MacLaren adventures, I highly recommend them!
