The book touches on the big questions of the fate of the galaxy, as humans compete for supremacy with other races. The narrative moves effortlessly from epic space battles to the philosophical contemplation of a slice of tomato, and everything in between. I especially enjoyed the imaginative description of human society thousands of years into the future.

The story was very capturing once I got into it. The background was well set and the story was then well built upon it. The beginning might be a bit lacking and boring, but overall the story was a nice read.
