Douglass Coffey was a racecar driver, until a bad accident left him wheelchair bound for what would be the remainder of his life. It wasn't that returning to racing would be impossible, but Doug found his life falling down around him. Upset and bored with the rehabilitation center he was recovering in, he began to explore the hallways and stumbled upon what seemed to be a secret experiment.
He was accidentally injected with a compound, and was informed that it was a trial drug meant to generate super powers, with the effects unknown. Thoughts of grandeur raced through his head as he imagined what kind of power he might uncover, but it all came crashing down when he realised the power he had been bestowed was super-speed. He couldn't even walk, much less run. How was super speed supposed to do him any good? Again he found himself disgusted with his situation.
Not that that would keep him down for long! With help from some friends, Doug started a new adventure to create a chair that could be used with his super-speed and become the hero known as Road Runner. With his quick wit and charming clumsiness, there will surely be laughs along the way. However, the doctor who created the drug was dissatisfied with Doug's gain. He aimed to strip Doug of his new ability so that his work remained a secret. Can Doug shake him off, or will the man succeed in protecting his work?
