About Jeffrey Marshall

Jeffrey Marshall is a writer and retired journalist who lives in Scottsdale, AZ. He has been published widely in newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, New Jersey Monthly and Crain’s New York Business. Marshall has been a newspaper reporter and editor, book reviewer, columnist and freelance writer, as well as editor-in-chief of two national business magazines. While this is his debut novel, he wrote a book about community reinvestment in 1991 and published a volume of collected poems in 2009. He was a winner or co-winner of a number of editorial awards for magazine writing and design.
Marshall grew up in Connecticut and spent virtually all of his professional life in New Jersey and New York. He has an undergraduate degree in history from Princeton and a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern. He continues to write, mostly about environmental issues, and serves on the board of a local land conservation group in the Phoenix area. Hobbies and leisure pursuits include tennis, golf, hiking, word games, movies, trivia, trying new restaurants and travel.
