Really good story, about the joys and travails of the life of the mercenary man. Not the battles, but how male soldiers and mercenaries enjoy themselves after battle and on leave.
Very taboo, which I like. Pulls no punches about how men of war really behave throughout most of history. Enjoyed this book quite a lot, and I would like to read more of the type.
