It’s not often you find something different among the vast choice of books that give advice concerning diet and lifestyle, so it was good to discover this one. “Look After the Ounces” comes at the problem of losing and/or controlling a person’s weight from a unique and slanted angle, choosing to concentrate not so much on the end result as the method of getting there. The author points out that the diet industry overflows with different diets and conflicting advice, much of which is hard to follow and doesn’t work in the long term. This can be detrimental to our confidence levels, leading to issues surrounding self-esteem, and even our health.
In this book, the author, Louise Comb, provides a clear, sensible - and more importantly - achievable set of steps by which the reader can gradually, gently, and permanently make those changes necessary for leading a healthier lifestyle. She gives constant encouragement throughout, and there’s plenty of advice for those who want to adapt the LATO steps to suit their own, unique circumstances. My personal feeling is that this book would be a great help to anyone sick of trying different diets and failing to achieve their goals.
