I discovered the greatest book of all time. I’m giddy just writing about it. I don’t even know how to describe it. It is the most original and unique piece of literature I have ever read bar none. Even the way it is assembled is pure genius. At first I thought the three parts were redundant since it was already broken up into chapters, but only after I read the last sentence did it all come together making perfect sense of everything; format, plot, the little stories that form each chapter, etc.
Essentially the first two parts weave one of the most interesting and engrossing, emotionally-tumbling, twistingly-shocking narratives I have ever read. Part one and two on their own deserve the Nobel literary prize, but then there is part three. Part three is stunning. Not even Plato’s Republic in all its originality, in its own time, can equal the new insights that part three of An Old Black Marble offers in modern times. This is a book that every man and woman on this Earth should read because no other book reaches into the essence of humanity the way this book does.
This book has literally changed the way I perceive the world around me and of course myself in it. And the real amazing thing about that is that I never picked up on that when I was reading it. It never felt philosophical. The story was straightforward but so engrossing that I could not stop reading, but when I finished it, and had time to think about it, it began affecting me in ways I can not even explain. I’ve always been kind of a depressed person, but after reading this book I just don’t see how I could ever get as depressed as I used to be. It WILL LITERALY CHANGE your perspective on life. I love this book and recommend it to all.
