I like to write about characters who have overcome obstacles because they feel more real, and because everyone I know who is the least bit interesting has been through hard times. My first novel, I Shocked the Sheriff is about a recovering alcoholic and I didn't know if Harlequin would go for it. But they published the novel and Romantic Times Magazine gave me the best first series novel award that year. Two more novels followed, and I enjoyed writing for Harlequin, but this last novel wasn't something they wanted, as it didn't fit their criteria. I guess I'm a bit of a rebel. So I'm publishing Shades of Desire independently. I'm also doing some short stories for exposure. Climax, the novella, has a lot of the same intriguing aspects in the novel, Shades of Desire, so if you like the novella then please go and look for my books. I live on a Texas ranch with assorted kids and animals. I swim, sail, and camp at the water whenever I get can. I grew up in Santa Cruz, CA. I've known a few hard times and I've been blessed with a great many sunsets and I thank God each day that he made them so beautiful.
