About Christeen Bauer

Christeen Bauer is a 29 year award winning veteran of radio broadcasting. After years of writing and producing thousands of radio commercials her daughter requested help in teaching her 3 year son the difference between truth and made up stories. So Christeen directed her creative imagination toward writing her first children book and the character Tommy came to life. Three books are now available in the Tommy series: Out of Sight Makes It Right? (a lesson in right and wrong and hurting the feelings of someone you love), Tommy Loves Pancakes (choosing to be open to exciting new experiences) and A Hero in Every Box (a lesson in public behavior and excepting the unexpected).

Review by: Patty Hevly on Aug. 30, 2015 :
I think Superhero in a Box has a great message for kids, that they are bright, smart and their own superhero. It explores how advertising effects buying power, and how if there is a great toy in a cereal box that the child wants, then they will want that cereal flavor. I like that it teaches that it is not ok to pour the cereal out in the store. I did however expect a little more on behavior and discipline than just the cereal incident, but it does help explain instant gratification to a child. I was a bit distracted by the mom having a heavier weight stroke around her illustration than the boys, as well a nose on mom and not on boy. I would have preferred both or neither having one, but that is just personal preference. Overall it is a cute story in a fun comic book style, that your child will enjoy.
