Didn't come up for air until I read the last page. Young star-crossed romance in a small southern town. When a dangerous local boy packed off to the war returns home, everyone dreads what will happen when he seeks to pick up where he left off with the preacher's daughter. But we sense there's more to the story as the pair's colorful best friend and the horny local sheriff have their hands full trying to get to the truth. A story of good versus evil, where love must overcome all. Gripping tale. Great book.
