About Anna Drake

Anna Drake writes mysteries with a touch of romance and a bit of suspense. She says her fascination with crime and its consequences began when she discovered a stash of Nancy Drew books in her parents' attic. Her devotion to the genre remained even as her tastes expanded. And to this day, when Anna isn't writing, she's most at home with her nose buried in a book. When not writing or reading, she enjoys quilting, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.

Good, interesting, simple short story. The Sherriff is the main character, a laid back, mature, thoughtful, experienced professional. A quick ten minute read.
Shame on R.J. Parker. Not realizing you had downloaded a short story is no reason to trash the work as it's presented. The word count is given. The author is not at fault, you are.

Fantastic story. I could see this as a much bigger piece. Great writing style. Hope you decide to enlarge this story.

I didn't realize when I downloaded it that this book has a grand total of 6 pages. It has the makings of a good story but the writer decided to kill it at 6 pages?
