I'm a big fan of romances in general and I love contemporary romances with a great deal of conflict for the characters to overcome. Fade to Black has a great premise and the overall architecture is well thought out. It is a little long with some extraneous details that don't enhance the story, but the characters are strong. Of the four protagonists, I think Jesse is the best and most constant throughout the story. Fade to Black is a good illustration of the complex world we live in today and the problems facing many of us. A good read.
